Foley catheter is a tube used to drain urine out of the body. It is a tube made of latex or silicone, inserted through the urethra into the bladder to drain the urine from the bladder and expel it from the body.
The common structure of a foley catheter is as shown in the following figure. At the front end, there is an airbag (used to fix the catheter in the bladder), and at the end, there are two holes (one hole is for draining urine, and the other hole is for inflating the airbag).

It is used for routine catheterization, and its main purpose is to drain urine.
Three way foley catheter
Used for bladder treatment or irrigation of patients, for injecting medicinal liquids, such as bladder contrast agents.
Applicable objects
8 - 10FR:Suitable for children.
12-14FR:The foley catheter is relatively thin and is suitable for patients with enlarged prostate (their urethral mucosa has poor elasticity, is thin and fragile, and is prone to causing urethral mucosal rupture).
16-18FR:Suitable for ordinary catheterization.
20-22FR:The lumen is relatively wide, making it suitable for elderly patients or those who have been bedridden for a long time.
