The 500 ml pouch is laminated with a nylon core that resists puncture from stretcher edges or helicopter vibration, yet remains flexible down to –20 °C for alpine missions. A built-in 200 µm pre-filter traps micro-clots formed during transport over rough roads, preventing downstream clogging of rapid-infuser pumps. The outlet port is moulded with a break-away twist cap that opens with one gloved hand, eliminating scissors and reducing the chance of accidental pouch perforation. High-visibility volume marks (100 ml, 200 ml, 350 ml) are printed in UV-stable ink that will not fade after 72 h sunlight exposure, ensuring accurate bedside estimation even under field lighting. Each unit is double-bagged in PE foil and gamma-sterilised, so the outer pouch can be ripped away in dirty environments while the inner bag stays sterile.
